DJ and label owner from Brighton, since signing to the legendary Planet Mu label in 2007 he has progressed to become an exciting and unique voice in the world of electronic music.

Beside him on March 27 you’ll find a healthy pool of our residents including some of the moments top Scottish artists. Drinks deals a plenty to round it off, Funktion1, low ceilings and an intimate dance floor.

Ital Tek //

Checking out his RA podcast shows Alan Myson’s music often has the illusion of dual tempos. Depending on what you want from it, the sound of Ital Tek is either a swaggered 80 BPM head-nod or a frenetic 160 BPM hop. Planet Mu put out the sub-focussed cYCLiCAL full-length in 2008, and he has remained a label regular ever since. Seeds of change were apparent when he returned to the full-length format in 2010 with Midnight Colour, a more contemplative and melodically-driven effort that sat somewhere between Flying Lotus-style experimental hip-hop and UK bass.
Nebula Dance, the 2012 album released through Planet Mu, has been his most concrete statement in this regard. Myson processed the rhythmic template of footwork and overlaid the types of fizzing melodies that have long been his specialty. Ital Tek has carved his own niche in the broad spectrum of bass music by creating evocative melody rich yet dance floor friendly electronic music with references to classic Electronica, Hip Hop and Techno blended masterfully to create his own style of hard hitting and melodic bass music.
