Following his critically acclaimed contribution to the Fabriclive mix series (FABRICLIVE 64) last year and 2010′s celebrated Rinse 11 mix, this month sees Oneman aka Steve Bishop drop his first ever unaffiliated mixtape: Solitaire Vol. 1.
Under wraps for the time being, all we can tell you is that this release will be a statement of intent for what’s to come from the rapidly rising London-based DJ, reflecting his incendiary sets and immaculate selections across Rinse FM, Boiler Room and more.
Expect a melting pot of stripped back UK club jams and US Rap with a couple of classics thrown in for good measure, plus exclusive edits from Oneman himself, some of which will drop ahead of release. To whet appetites he’s made his moody house edit of ‘Chained’ by The xx available for download – grab it at the link above.
Speaking to FACT, Oneman commented, “The tape was a gamble really, mostly off the cuff mixes… a game of subsonic solitaire, where risks sometimes pay off.”
