FLASH MOB – TESSELA (Punch Drunk) – RYAN MARTIN (All Caps) – VANDELAY

Sat 17th Aug @ 11PM - 3AM £3/5

Tessela is the alias of West Country based Ed Russell. Debuting on Dublin’s ever impressive All City records in 2011 he has since released on 2nd Drop Records, Audio Culture and the Bristol institution that is Punch Drunk. His music is stripped back, percussive and echoes with the sounds of early UK Hardcore.

The massive ‘Hackney Parrot’ was first brought to the attention of the masses via a Jackmaster and Loefah back to back set on Boiler Room back in November, proving that club music doesn’t need to conform to the static sound of four on the floor. Released on his own imprint Poly Kicks, the first press of this sold out straight away and subsequent issues won’t be around long either. Forward thinking, bass heavy and not afraid to try something new, last time in Glasgow he smashed it up and we’re expecting nothing less this time around.

Also on the bill is one third of the All Caps crew, Ryan Martin. Ryan has been involved in Glasgow’s clubbing scene for a large part of his life, sneaking into clubs well before he ought to have been and running a show on the legendary Subcity Radio. Alongside his partners Bake and Matt, All Caps have been responsible for some fairly hefty releases from the likes of Alex Coulton, Helix and Kowton. Expect a knowledge of tunes that would shame most and a quickfire mixing style.

Resident badman Vandelay will be kicking things off in the style you’ve come to expect now. Riding deftly through the bpm’s, switching up sub-genres and double dropping tunes like it ain’t no thang.
